Dearest mommy,
I have seen you fight a lot of battles in life. I have seen you fight for your place in the queue during my school admissions. I have seen you fight for discipline while standing outside the fee submission window in my college. I have seen you fight for my safety in public places. I have seen you fight for justice when you knew I was right. I have seen you fight with dad to fulfil my wishes. I have seen you fight with me, to make me a better person. I have seen you fight for what’s right, no matter who the person you are standing against is.
But you have put up the greatest fight with cancer, an occurrence that challenged you deep down to your very core, a condition that threatened to take your life away. I have seen you fight with excruciating pain, discomfort, fever, nausea, weakness, physical changes, inability to do everyday chores. I have seen you fight with hopelessness, defeat and misery. I have seen you fight with long troubling hours at the hospital bed. I have seen you fight with that natural urge to give up.
But you have been a fighter all this time, whether weak or strong. You have fought the obstacles, with smiles and tears both. You have braved every possible odd to emerge victorious. I have seen you fight with yourself in what I would say has been the toughest exam you have taken so far.
You have been a winner, a survivor, a victor! I take this occasion to admire my hero! I know when I have you nothing can bring me down ever. Stay healthy & blessed! Love you...
