They say the universe began with a big bang...

I wonder are we still in the middle of the beginning?

All she wanted was to be on the peak of the pyramid...
Little did she realize that the top most brick has to stand alone..

The Beggar
Published over 3 years ago

He was famished but happy, the assignment was finally over. The stereo was playing the songs from 80's . He wanted to have the pizza kept on the dashboard. The smell of cheese and pepperoni just filled the air. He stopped the car at the signal, and cursed under his breath, he didn't want to stop. A successful career had left him occupied and with bare minimum time for life.

He was peeping intently at the signal light and the people rushing to their destinations, the light was still red...

A Knock on the window, he saw a child, 8-9 years old, begging for something. He was a man of fundamentals and he had never given a penny to the beggars. He just felt that there was something ethically wrong with begging.

But something caught him this time, he couldn't understand what. Was it the child's eyes? Or was it his tired brain? He didn't know..

He unconsciously picked up the pizza box and gave the little boy a slice of his pepperoni. To his utter surprise, the little kid kissed his hand, took the slice and walked away dancing to his friends on the pavement. He saw him jumping and taking a bite from that slice and passing on the slice to his friends. He looked at the way the kid was relishing the pizza. He felt envious and alone at the same time.

The lights changed, the honking started, the radio abruptly started playing static and he hurriedly powered the engine, and started on his way..

But this little incident made him question himself. He felt empty. He felt sad. He could see the question zooming in his empty mind:

Who was the real beggar? Was he the one begging for happiness?

He couldn't understand...

The Resignation
Nano Published over 3 years ago

He just resigned from his well paying job...

Father: Son, i don't get it, what do you want to be?
Son: I want to be more than just an Employee ID.

The father smiled painfully, watching his son do what he couldn't.
